The mission of Dawn Centre is to support individuals facing an unexpected pregnancy and sexual health related concerns. We are a Christian, community focused organization that offers information, educational opportunities, and emotional support to help clients develop their best plan of care for physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. To help further this goal, we are currently accepting applications for two, part-time (12 hrs/week for 23 weeks, starting September 13, 2021) positions (funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program) :

To be eligible, you must be:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,

  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Please note, that you do not need to be returning to school to be eligible. ​

 

Position 1

Communications Service Coordinator: Part time, 12 hrs/wk, 23 wks, $16.00/hr

Under the supervision of the Executive Director

 -use knowledge of relevant and current communication trends to update and maintain our social media platforms

 -assess and update our current website as required

 -research and write content for organizational website, infographics, newsletters

 -research and propose changes to current communication practices of the centre

-dependent on skills, produce or arrange production, of promotional video(s)

 -assess and update current promotional materials

 -acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the organization's policies, principles and strategies, and to keep up to-date with relevant developments.

 

Position 2

Fundraising Organizer: Part time, 12 hrs/wk, 23 wks, $16.00/hr

Under the supervision of the Executive Director

-use knowledge and experience of relevant and current fundraising trends, assess our current fundraising practices, and make recommendations for growth

 -with input of Executive Director, research and make plan for new fundraising opportunities

-guide the Fundraising Committee in the implementation of fundraising events/activities

 -research and implement strategies to increase donor engagement

 -assist in donor communications

-acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the organization's policies, principles and strategies, and to keep up to date with relevant developments.
